Dear John,
Fall weather hit the Midwest in full force
this week, dropping both the temperature and
lots of precipitation at the same time. Trees
are turning vivid shades of orange, yellow,
and red.
On the US Wellness Meats farms,
we're beginning to prepare for winter by
stockpiling forage, securing
bales of hay,
and completing maintenance projects before
freezing temperatures arrive. In the office,
it's time to think about gift
certificates
and gift
boxes for the upcoming holidays.
We'll hold off on telling you about our
holiday gift options for just a bit longer
and this week focus on the most immediate
upcoming holiday, Halloween. Whether you're
purchasing or creating costumes for your
little ones or awaiting the arrival of the
neighborhood trick-or-treaters, don't forget
to make a health-conscious choice when
deciding on the treats you'll hand out this
Halloween. Instead of candies laden with high
fructose corn syrup and preservatives, choose
non-food items or healthy treats instead.
Great treats include: stickers, erasers,
pencils, small packs of crayons,
trick-or-treat play dough, apples, beef
jerky, beef
snack sticks, and organic
nuts,
berries,
and trail
mix.
At US Wellness Meats, Halloween treats aren't
just for kids. For the next seven days, you
have access to the largest selection of sale
items we have ever offered in one single
week. In addition, our selection of healthy
chocolate is perfect for adults in need of a
Halloween treat.
Raw
Decadence Organic Dark Chocolate
bars and Organic
Yoga White Chocolate are a healthful
indulgence. Part of
our inventory of Organic White Chocolate Yoga
bars expires at the end of the month
(although they have been kept in a freezer,
thus extending their shelf life); don't miss
out on the opportunity to purchase these bars
for only $2.39 (must purchase 12 minimum)
(regularly $3.59).
From
premium grass-fed
beef to raw
milk cheese to
free
range poultry and healthy
chocolate, US
Wellness Meats has got your Halloween treats
covered.
Apologies are in order for those of you
ordering sandwich steaks, sirloin tips,
minute steaks and 75% burger last weekend.
Due to a very unusual communication glitch
these items were not delivered on October
20th as we had assumed and arrived on the
22nd to our chagrin. With that said, we are
confident skirt steaks,
petite top sirloins, tri tip roasts and
several beef sausages will arrive on Monday
morning. Until we see a Monday morning fax
confirming pick up on Saturday morning, we
will leave inventory at zero. Suggest you
check website Monday afternoon for out of
stock re-stocking;

John, Lee Ann, Megan, McKenzie and Tressa

EMAIL QUESTIONS TO: eathealthy@grasslandbeef.com
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Hi Dr. Serrano:
I would like to know what nutritional and
supplement recommendations you would have for
someone with eczema. My husband has been
suffering with it off and on for years and I
have suggested to him many times that it
could be his diet but he is skeptical.
Thanks in advance for any information you can
provide.
Sincerely,
Janet M
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Dear Janet:
You are right, and he is way wrong (like
usual - women are always right)! Diet is the
most important factor on the skin. The skin
is the window to your health; the worse your skin
is, the worse your health is. Of course, this
is in addition to your gastrointestinal
system.
The first thing I recommend to anybody with
eczema is to find out what the person is
allergic to, by doing an elimination diet or
getting tested for allergies. I also start
the patient on vinegar, and it could be
balsamic or apple cider, one teaspoon three
times per day, and if these two do not work I
add probiotics (I use Klaire or Orthobiotics,
if you want to contact them, the phone
numbers for Ortho is
(800) 842-0924, ask for the probiotics and
use a code SERR10 or Klaire is (888) 488-2488
and ask for the complete brand, and the code
is 614).
Janet if I were your husband I would
definitely listen to you. By the way, the top
three foods that you need to start with [for
an elimination diet] are WHEAT, DAIRY and
EGGS, and just in case, peanuts as well.
Good luck,
Dr. Eric Serrano
