Dear John,
We are finally experiencing temperatures above 20 degrees in Northeast Missouri last week - a welcome change from the single digits. The cattle have been out playing in the snow, see our farm photos below for more details.
Are you grilling out for the Super Bowl? Our all-natural Ono Charcoal is a great addition to any BBQ - it burns slower and hotter for the perfect flame and is environmentally friendly. Don't forget to stock up on handy snacks such as summer sausage, salami, shrimp, cheese and nuts for your Super Bowl party.
US Wellness is proud to introduce a new seafood product to the menu: Wild Pink Shrimp, which are wild-caught off the coast of Oregon. 90% of shrimp consumed in the U.S. are farm-raised and usually come from countries with lower environmental standards, and most wild-caught shrimp are caught using practices that harm other sea animals. Rest assured, our Wild Pink Oregon Shrimp are certified sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council. Wild Pink Shrimp come fully cleaned and cooked and are a perfect addition to salads, pasta, and casseroles. Visit our Recipe page for helpful shrimp recipes.
Our feature recipe this week is a crock pot short rib recipe. This delicious treat is easy to make, simply throw everything in the crock pot in the morning and dinner is ready to be served when you get home at night!

Dr Serrano,
Thank you for being there! I learned about the importance of eating grass-fed meat a little over a year ago after decades of eating the deathly pyramid diet. I do not have any diagnosed medical condition, but have never recovered from an underlying, persistent fatigue. It just never goes away.
I feel stronger and healthier eating good fat and grass-fed meat and dairy; it's an adventure and pleasure to enjoy food again....but something is missing. I feel extremely tired after eating anything. I started taking fermented cod liver oil caplets for the last six months. I have been on Prozac for the last 5 years and it is a wonderful medicine. I do not see medical doctors regularly and rather listen to my body for what it needs. It isn't telling me anything right now. Just rest doesn't cut the fatigue. My sleep is not altogether that great.
Thanks for any advice!! N.B. Vienna, VA ___________________________________________
Dear N.B.,
I'm sorry I can't answer your question thoroughly because fatigue can be caused by so many things. But, I am going to give you a list of probable causes:
- DIET- are you still eating too many carbs?
- Lack of sleep
- Age and sleep apnea
- Virus
- Lack of faith
- Medications
- Hormones
- Social lifestyle
- Work
- Night shift
- Relationships
- Injuries
- Lack of exercise
I apologize for the vague answers but I will need more details or information to help you further.
Good Luck,
Dr. Serrano

What Our Customers Are Saying
|
US Wellness, I've been a happy customer for over a year now. I buy almost exclusively precooked meats. Out of curiosity, I tried products from 2 of your competitors: a pre-cooked roast from one and bologna and jerky from another.
The roast from the other vendor was a quality product but packaged in one 4 pound chunk that was very difficult to thaw and slice. It was also terribly bland, which sent me searching for a suitable natural and healthful condiment - no easy (or inexpensive) task. Finally, it required quite a bit of trimming. I won't buy from that vendor again.
The bologna from the other vendor was so awful that I've been mincing it into my dog's food. The jerky from this same company contained chemical additives that were not disclosed on the website (but were listed on the label). Obviously, I won't reorder!
Neither of these ventures was less expensive per pound than US Wellness Meats. One was more expensive and the other was about the same cost.
I was attempting to broaden the variety of precooked meats that I serve my family by trying these other products.
Thank you for the reliably delicious, affordable, and easy precooked meats; keep 'em coming!
