Dear John,
We hope this week's newsletter finds you in warmer weather than
we are! Northeast Missouri was blanketed with snowfall earlier this week, followed with
temperatures in the single digits. We are hoping for warmer weather next week - but still
enjoying the deep snowfall!
Are you still working on your New Year's Resolution to
eat healthier?
Omega-3's are anti-inflammatory essential fatty acids that are imperative
for human growth and development, and can help your health in a multitude of other ways: they
can help reduce your risk of heart disease, lower your blood pressure and even fight
depression. According to this
WebMD article, there are currently many studies taking place testing the
effectiveness of Omega-3's against Alzheimer's, obesity, and even
cancer.
How can you get more Omega-3's in your diet?
Simple -
wild-caught seafood is the most popular choice. Our
wild-caught
Salmon,
Tuna, or
Mackerel
are all excellent choices. Grazing animals eat forage that is naturally rich in
Omega-3's, and then pass those valuable nutrients onto us.
Grass-fed beef has been shown to have higher Omega-3 levels
than its grain-fed counterpart. If you're looking for a healthy snack,
walnuts
have also been shown to have high Omega-3 levels. Our
Sockeye Salmon
Oil Softgels are also an easy way to add Omega-3's and Vitamin D to your diet.
Don't forget about the upcoming
Fresh Chilled Beef deadline next Friday,
January 28. Please have all orders in by 12:00 noon CST to ensure shipping on Wednesday,
February 2.
Fresh Filet
Mignon would make a sweet surprise for your Valentine!
Now is a great time to stock up on our famous
Beef Brauschweiger, as
it is
on sale this week. Be sure and visit our recipe section today for an
enticing Rosemary Lamb Chop - which is sure to fill your home with the delicious aroma
of cooking herbs!
We would like to thank all of our customers for their

Coast. Hopefully the winter weather will be calmer from here on out!

Dear Dr. Serrano,
Since it's winter and I can't tan in the sun like I
usually do in the summer, should I take a Vitamin D supplement? If so, which company
do you recommend? Thanks, George ________________________________________________
Dear George, Sorry but tanning is not enough. Yes, I do recommend taking Vitamin D.
Although you did not state your age, I will assume you are between 20 and 30 because you are
tanning. I would take at least 6000 IU, and again this is a recommendation without
knowing where you live, but again I am assuming Midwest or North. I would take Vitamin D from a whole food source, including Standard Process
or Innate Vitamin D, call (800) 634-6342 and use code SER030. Good luck,
Dr.
Serrano

Dear US Wellness, I loved the
roasts,
jerky, and
pemmican. The
pemmican and
ground meat make a
delicious meat loaf. I made it for some friends and they couldn't get enough! All the best, JC Geneva, Illinois |

US Wellness - Supporting Our
Troops | As the war on terror continues to rage in the Middle East, we continue to
follow and support our troops both at home and abroad who work daily to protect our
freedom. Beginning in our 2011 News Alerts we will focus on different organizations and
individuals who are making a difference in the lives of our American Soldiers. This
week we would like to introduce to our readers the
Lone Survivor Foundation that is working to
help our wounded warriors and their families. Want to get involved? It's easy -
start by "liking" them on
Facebook, and visit
their website for more ways to help out. The Lone Survivor Foundation was founded by Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, the lone
survivor of the tragic Operation Redwing, in honor of his fallen comrades. He wrote a
book describing his heroic journey as a Navy SEAL, and on the fifth
anniversary of Operation Redwing, he and Sharon Henderson launched the Lone Survivor
Foundation. See his Today Show
interview to listen to his touching story.
