Dear John,
One of US Wellness strongest supporters has been Buck pictured to the right. The lab collie cross arrived at the John Wood home as a pup in 2004 and has witnessed the growth of the meat company. Buck is true believer in pet burger, ground chicken backs, ground duck backs, and large dog bones. Buck is still very agile and alert at age 11 on his raw meat and bone diet. Under a year of age he had an accident and ended up with a candy cane fracture of his right rear leg. Without surgery, he made a 100% recovery on a raw diet of pet burger, large bones, Liquid Ca/Mg, and Superior Trace Minerals. In 4 weeks you could barely tell he had suffered such a severe injury. August 26th is National Dog Day and we just want to remind you that nutrition is equally important for our pets. In honor of National Dog Day, US Wellness is featuring the Pet Food category. We are most proud that all of our ground chicken backs, ground duck backs, tripe and 21 other choices contain no additives. On August 19th, US Wellness launched an after hours answering service to assist you with order fulfillment and customer service questions. The State of Maine based staff will be able to answer and assist most issues that arise. We were very impressed with the long tenure of the call center staff and their enthusiasm they had for healthy food. Use the toll free line below to reach the after hours service. If you would like to learn more about how grass-fed meats are produced, and meet a number of the grass-fed leaders, then now is the time to register for the Grassfed Exchange being held September 16 to 18 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. This is a perfect opportunity for urban consumers to meet their country cousins responsible for smart proteins and healthy fats. Complete schedule here. For farm tours, upcoming sales, special events, new cookbooks, recipes, and much more - visit us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, or our Blog. We always appreciate your feedback and comments. Cool & Sunny August regards,
John, Lee Ann, Tressa, Amanda, Laura and Deric on behalf of the farm families of U.S. Wellness Meats

Exercise Alone - Not Enough
Source: Loyola University Health System
Physical activity has many health benefits, ranging from reducing the risk of heart disease, diabetes and cancer to improving mental health and mood
But contrary to common belief, exercise does not help you lose weight, according to public health scientists Richard S. Cooper, MD and Amy Luke, PhD of Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.
"Physical activity is crucially important for improving overall health and fitness levels, but there is limited evidence to suggest that it can blunt the surge in obesity," Drs. Luke and Cooper wrote in the International Journal of Epidemiology.

Happy Cats.......I used 2 lbs pet burger and 1 lb ground duck backs in my cat food recipe. My cats love it, and I like the nutrients they are getting. Both cats are thriving. Thank you for offering healthy alternatives for our pets. Peggy Wheat Ridge, CO.
