Make A Plan & Stick To It Since many of us are spending more time at home, our routines have been turned upside down. One of the more frustrating consequences of breaking with routine is that it can lead to some bad habits. Changing a routine can be good, but without a backup plan, it can also have undesirable repercussions. For example, most gyms have had to close down during this time. If you were used to working out regularly at the gym, what do you do now? First, come up with a new plan. You may need to be flexible, but you have options. Instead of giving up training time, exercise at home. Set a time, find the right room, assemble your tools and make it work. Some household items can come in handy for weight training, like water bottles, resistance bands, canned veggies, or even a sock filled with rice. Remember push-ups, sit-ups, and jumping jacks from P.E.? Bring those back for a retro-workout. If you find yourself snacking too much or taking too many liberties with your diet, it might be time to make a new meal plan. A scoop of ice cream once in a while makes a nice treat. Two scoops of ice cream every night might be an overindulgence and that can get us into trouble. Whatever your plan, eat healthy, whole foods that your body responds well to. If your grandmother wouldn't recognize it as food, you should probably avoid it. A primal or ancestral style diet can help put you back on track and it's relatively simple to follow.
