Winter Wellness
In the winter months, our bodies could use an extra helping hand to keep us healthy and happy. Colds and flu seem to be a winter tradition, but there are plenty of ways to help prevent and fight colds this season for you and your family. One of the best ways to improve your mood and the immune system is ensuring you have the right vitamins and minerals to help you thrive! A few classic vitamins are Vitamin D, Vitamin C, and Vitamin B.
Vitamin D can be found in organ meats such as Liver or fatty fish like Salmon and Sardines. One of our favorites ways to get Vitamin D is to get outside and soak up the sun. Taking a walk in nature is a mood booster. We encourage you to get outdoors for at least 30 minutes a day. You could listen to a podcast, music, or just enjoy the sounds of nature. Either way, it is a significant plus to your day!
Vitamin C and B are also great for bettering our immune systems. Both aid our bodies in being the best they can be. Vitamin C is crucial for protecting against cold and flu, and Vitamin B is excellent for cognitive function and red blood cells. You can find Vitamin C in certain fruits and vegetables or a supplement. A few high vitamin B-rich foods are leafy greens, grass-fed beef, and wild-caught salmon.
This winter, use your diet as a tool to protect against cold and flu season. Try eating clean, drinking more water, and marinating your protein in bone broth for added benefits. Rest up and treat your body kind, and in return, it will keep you feeling great!

Shout Out | New Year's Delmonico Steaks
Sure, nights out on the town are fun, but sometimes a night in is even better. USWM patron David shared a fantastic New Year's night spent at home that included our Delmonico Steaks. He cooked these butter blasted steaks to perfection with a formal dinner where the attire even had bow ties!
