Building Brain Power
As we age, it becomes extremely important to stay in the habit of getting regular exercise. That can look different depending on the life situation. For one of our farmers, that might mean putting up fence or moving cattle. For someone else it could be a regular walk or jog around the neighborhood. Others may head out to the mountains or beach for a little nature time. For some, home exercise equipment can be a good option while others may join a gym for more guidance and access to equipment.
The physical benefits of regular exercise are obvious, but did you know it's also good for the brain too. Numerous studies have shown that regular exercise keeps the blood flowing throughout the body which helps reduce cognitive decline. Regular exercise boosts energy, and protects brain function. There is even evidence that these benefits can affect the next generation as children of active mothers tend to have improved cognitive abilities. The older we get the more our memories can fade, but maintaining an active lifestyle and improving fitness can improve memory retention. Exercise also improves our disposition, affects attitude, and allows for more restful sleep. Like many things in life, fitness requires a routine or habit to make it stick. Add a little exercise to an all-natural, whole-foods diet and you have a recipe for good health.

It is especially useful in times where you need explosive power. That’s why it is one of the most popular nutritional supplements used by professional athletes and those who just like pumping iron. But this safe and effective nutrient is not just for athletes…" Keep reading Kelley Herring's article about exercise and improved cognitive function.
