Civilizations rise and fall. Throughout history this has been the case. Sometimes it is because of horrific weather or natural events like tsunamis, earthquakes, or volcanic eruptions. Sometimes it is due to sickness or plague. War can wreak havoc on a society. Economic and social issues grow from the inside and can also result in societal collapse though more gradual. In an individual body, this might equate to chronic sickness that lingers or grows unabated. Inflammation sets in and can cause all sorts of problems. This isn't intended to be a downer, but to encourage positive change. If we look at the big picture it might seem overwhelming, but at a micro level, we can begin to make small incremental changes that become progress toward a healthier whole.
Start with a few key elements to reverse course:
1. Nutrition - Cut back on sugars and processed foods and replace with whole, natural foods. Healthy proteins and fats, fruits and veggies can help you reclaim lost energy. Our ancestors consumed far less sugar and the current obesity and diabetes rates testify to this.
2. Rest - We're often so busy, we don't realize when we aren't getting enough sleep. Start by shutting down electronic devices earlier before bedtime so the brain can relax and get quiet. Make your sleeping quarters more peaceful for rest. Try not to snack or drink adult beverages right before bedtime.
3. Move - The body needs exercise to stay fit and this is especially true as we age. Joints and muscles that don't move get "rusty". The good news is that we can choose to change course at any time and little corrections can become big progress to a healthier you!
Speaking of positive change...we are thrilled to share some very big news with you. In the coming weeks we will be introducing a brand new website. We've listened to your feedback and have done our best to implement some new features that will make it easier and quicker to navigate our store. This coincides with greener / cleaner packaging materials which many of you have already received with recent orders. Watch this space for details as we get closer to the kick off date.
Well Wishes,
Team USWM
