If you've been avoiding the calendar for awhile, maybe you haven't noticed that we're in November - The Official Kickoff to Holiday Season. We have absolutely no idea where the rest of 2024 went to. It's like we've been pulled into some weird, space-time continuum that Doc Brown and Marty McFly experienced with their DeLorean time machine or the behind-the-bookshelf-scene from Interstellar. Here we are though, smack dab in the middle of holiday season 2024. The holidays bring with them the memory inducing aromas wafting in from the kitchen - pies baking in the oven, turkey roasting - and a table full of sweet and savory delicacies all prepared for our traditional fall feasting.

Sunday, we'll discuss in more detail the savory main course roasts that make Thanksgiving and Christmas special epicurean treats. Yes, the main course is what we all look forward to, but there's more to holiday meals than the main course. Sweet potatoes, veggies, stuffing or dressing, homemade pies, and ... charcuterie boards. One thing we love to do during the holidays is to graze and a charcuterie or grazing board can accommodate that desire for your guests. These can be as specific or varied and expensive or frugal as you like. Creating a tray of snack worthy delicacies can be extremely satisfying and allows for some thoughtful artsy appeal. Think about which flavors you want to mingle into the mix. Pair the cheeses and meats with top notch sauces and dips. Better ingredients can take a mediocre recipe and make it great.
