September is when baseball season begins to wind down as MLB teams compete to be the last teams standing for the playoffs and eventually World Series. Major League Soccer runs through mid-October when they will have their postseason tournament. While sports leagues come to a close this fall, other leagues begin their seasons. This past week we saw the first games in a new NFL season and Collegiate Football. The NBA season is set to begin in October along with the NHL season, while college basketball begins in November. Those are just some of the major leagues Americans follow. There are also numerous others, not to mention summer youth leagues, and highschool sports. We love sports. We love the excitement, the exhileration of choosing sides and watching a good competition unfold. Civilizations, small and large, have loved games as far back as can be traced.
What goes well with sports? Good food! Game days for every civilization, tribe, and tongue are centered around sport, food, and fellowship. Whether you follow your favorite teams by attending the games, tailgating, or have watch parties at home, BBQs are always something that go hand in hand. Even if the game goes poorly, you can look forward to delicious food and fellowship. Fall is a great time for BBQs because the weather is perfect! Is there anything better than watching a game with friends and family and enjoying meats and veggies roasted over a fire? We think that's pretty high up the list of "Best Things in Life". This week, we offer a choice selection of steaks, burgers, franks, brats, ribs, chicken, shrimp and chops ON SALE ready for your freezer. You don't have to break the budget to enjoy the finest grass-fed and pasture-raised foods on the planet.
