“We may live without poetry, music and art; We may live without conscience, and live without heart; We may live without friends; we may live without books; But civilized man cannot live without cooks.” ― Edward Bulwer-Lytton, English Author and form member of Parliament Solving The Inflammation Riddle So many health issues are related to inflammation. While inflammation is part of the body's immune response, chronic inflammation can lead to a whole host of problems...heart disease, autoimmune disorders, arthritis, and cancer. What can be done? Start by examining your diet. Are there foods you might need to avoid? Some foods cause different reactions in different people. No two bodies are alike. Try to eat more anti-inflammatory foods. Foods high in Omega-3 fats are especially good at reducing inflammation. Consider adding grass-fed beef, lamb or bison in place of grain-fed meats. Grass-fed meats have an excellent Omega-6 to 3 ratio, containing as much as five times more Omega-3's. Green leafy veggies, berries, and seafood also have anti-inflammatory properties. Dr. Mercola shares some insight into the inflammation epidemic in this week's article.
