Super Charged Super Foods Hippocrates has been credited with saying, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." Food gives us energy. It's the fuel that nourishes our bodies. While whole, nutrient dense foods can make us healthier, other "foods" can actually cause us harm in mind and body. Many of us with food sensitivities must watch closely what we eat. Food allergies can show themselves in a variety of symptoms: arthritis, fatigue, depression, moodiness, sinusitis, abdominal pain, IBS, bloating, asthma, muscle pain, heartburn, acne, eczema or rashes, obesity, etc. There are so many symptoms we can't list them all. To some extent, we're all allergic to certain foods. Too much sugar, processed junk foods, and vegetable oils can lead to a whole host of problems. Fortunately, some foods are so rich in nutritional value, they're considered by many to be super-foods. Some of our favorites we have available in the store: Organ Meats (Liver, Kidney, Heart, etc), Wild-Caught Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, Dark Green Leafy Veggies (Amaranth Greens), Dark Chocolate, Bone Marrow Broth, Berries (Aronia Berries), Wild Rice, Pemmican, and Ghee. Superfoods are loaded with nutrition but they won't save you if your diet consists mainly of empty calories. Include superfoods in your diet, but more importantly, eat healthy consistently. If you've struggled with other diets, consider a ketogenic diet or Whole30 to help bring some healthy consistency to your dinner table. This week, Kelley Herring shares information on the ketogenic diet and how it can be an important tool for healing brain trauma. Ketogenic diets have gained quite a bit of notoriety for their therapeutic benefits in numerous conditions including Alzheimer's, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Autism, Autoimmune Disorders, etc. Shipping Updates As many of our patrons know, normally, when you place your order Sunday through 10 am Wednesday, you’ll receive your package that same week.
