Super Nutrient Superfoods
Superfoods come in all shapes and sizes. There are fruits, veggies, herbs, honeys, and teas. But many believe the king of super foods is organ meats. Organ meats contain a wide range of vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats. Our ancestors consumed or used nearly every part of the animal. Organ meats were prized for being nutrient dense and important to survival, especially when food was scarce. But remember, all foods are not equal. All farms are not equal in their determination to raise clean, whole foods. It's why we encourage readers to know their farmer. If you know your farmer, you're more likely to know your food. Where does it come from? How is it raised? Are you getting a side helping of herbicides, pesticides, GMOs, or antibiotics with your meats? Is your food raised on factory farms or family farms? Ruminents like cattle are designed to eat grasses, not grains. In fact, grain-fed cattle have entirely different chemistry due to what they eat and the conditions they're raised in. Pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, GMOs, and added growth hormones are all part of many factory food operations.
Our farm families believe it's important to raise animals the way nature intended - roaming green pastures, not confined to a feed lot. US Wellness Farms use no antibiotics, no pesticides, no herbicides, no GMOs, and no added growth hormones. Our animals eat right so you can too!

"Not only does offal – which includes organ meats, bones, trimmings and pretty much everything in between – provide rich tastes and unique textures to a wide variety of cuisines, it is also some of the most nutrient-dense food you could put on your plate. November 2021 Featured Chef | Summer Yule
If you haven't already, meet Summer Yule, our November 2021 Featured Chef. Summer is a registered dietician, nutrition advocate, and food blogger. She can be found at her website, Summer Yule Nutrition.
"I’ve always enjoyed cooking and food. I can remember flipping through Betty Crocker’s Cookbook for Boys and Girls as a small child, planning all of the delicious things I was going to make. I quickly took over planning the menus and grocery shopping in my household as an adult, simply because I liked to do it. After battling breast cancer and intentionally losing 70 lbs., the intersection between our health and the foods we eat became a related interest of mine.

GiGi Ashworth | Is Grass-fed Beef Liver Good?
Past Featured Chef, GiGi Ashworth, shares her experience with beef liver. GiGi is a well-known Salmon aficionado. Salmon is loaded with healthy fats and key nutrients, but what about beef? Grass-fed, grass-finished beef has far more Omega-3's and other nutrients than conventional beef. Which is why GiGi has dubbed it "land fish". Visit our Organ Meats category for beef liver and other "nose to tail" superfoods.
