Survivors
Our ancestors knew a few things about survival. They learned the hard way. The harsher the circumstances, the more it was necessary to learn quickly. If you've ever watched the television show "Alone,” you know the basics of survival in the wild: water, food, shelter, and warmth. Contestants are dropped off in a wild, remote location and given a handful of items to help them survive. Each person has their priorities, but food and clean water are always near the top of the list. In these situations, water is usually available, and most of these survivalists have the skills to build a shelter and start a fire for warmth and cooking. The people who tend to succeed are those who can find sufficient food. Whether hunting, gathering, or fishing, getting the nutrition necessary to spend several weeks alone without a grocery store or online market is vital. Humans eat most days, so when you have to provide for yourself, that becomes THE issue for long-term survival.
Energy is vital, especially when you're burning calories by hunting, fishing, gathering, building, hiking, etc. Animal proteins provide dense nutrition and energy via calories and micronutrients. Eating nose to tail was crucial for our ancestors because organ meats, fats, and bones are the most nutrient-dense parts of the animal.
While hunting and fishing can be a valuable experience, we don't have to go out with a bow or fishing pole and hunt for our food as they do on the show. We can phone in an order, find food online, or go to our favorite restaurant. It is essential to know what you're getting in your food though; some choices aren't always nutritious and healthy. Wild foods are more nutrient-dense without additives, chemical residues, etc. At US Wellness, our foods are as close to nature as you'll find without picking up a bow or fishing pole. Our farmers are dedicated to holistic practices that help regenerate soils, clean the air and water, and provide proteins raised on native prairies and pastures similar to how wild bison lived hundreds of years ago. That's about as close to wild as you can get.
Product Feature | Nose-to-Tail
Meat consumption remains controversial for many people. Eating nose-to-tail is the healthiest, most eco-friendly, and nutritious way to be a compassionate carnivore. Organ meats, including heart, liver, and kidney, as well as skin and tallow of 100% grass-fed beef, are incredibly nutritious.

Farm Feature | The Grass-fed Difference
Why are grass-fed, grass-finished and pasture-raised foods better? There really is a difference. Some meats in the grocery store will be from animals conventionally raised on factory farms with grains and commercial feeds to fatten them up quickly. Others will be labeled as Grass-fed. If it's truly 100% grass-fed, then there is a distinct difference in the product. All US Wellness Beef, Lamb, Bison, Elk, and Dairy products are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished. There are no compromises. Find out why HERE.
