Plant Your May Garden
Do you have a green thumb? If you've never tried growing your own fruits and veggies, you may not know your true potential as a gardener. While rural areas have an advantage, it's still possible to grow food in the city. Container gardening is a wonderful way to start. For a big swath of the country, the beginning of May is the crucial point when it's OK to put young plants in the ground. Start your garden too early and frost or rains can be too much for starter plants. May seems to be the sweet spot for sunshine, rain, and warm weather throughout the midwest. A garden can be as big or as small as you have time to tend and that really is the key to growing food of any kind. Gardening, like farming, is hard work, but the potential for eating your own produce makes it well worth it. There are very few things in life that are as good as a fresh-picked, garden-ripened heirloom tomato. Top a grass-fed burger with sliced tomato and you get a glimpse of what heaven must be like.
Whatever form your garden takes, there are some things that can improve your chances for green thumb status. 1. Study up on the varieties that are suitable for your area. 2. Start small and grow the size of your garden as you learn. 3. Don't plant it and forget it. "Lazy" and “gardening" are two words that do not go together. To get to the point of picking a ripe beefsteak, many days of tending seedlings, watering, mulching, weeding, waiting, and hoping must happen first. 4. Enjoy the fruits of your labor...and share some too!

Early mornings and late evenings are common for small family farms. Whether it's fixing tractors or moving cattle from one pasture to another, there is never a lack of chores. Food & Farmer | Eat Wholesome & Healthy
Twenty plus years ago, when US Wellness Farms began to raise grass-fed, grass-finished beef, the interest in all-natural, whole foods was just beginning to take root. US Wellness farm owners wanted to make sure patrons knew the answers to questions about their farms and the food they raised. They wanted a more transparent approach to the relationship between farmer and consumer. Today, we are even more committed to honoring that tradition. We firmly believe you should want to know all you can about the food you eat and the farmer who raised that food. Why does this matter? Study after study after study validates the importance of clean, whole, nutrient dense foods. You will not find junk ingredients in our foods. It simply is not there. Our farms don't use pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, growth hormones, GMO's, or any other un-natural additives. Watch these farm videos and learn more about the farmers raising the food in our store. US Wellness owners are the actual farmers. Read the reviews from actual customers on Trustpilot (3rd party review site), ask us questions, and commit yourself and your family to eating healthy!
