Proof is in the Pudding
What is happening with the rise in chronic diseases like autoimmune disorders, allergies, heart disease, and inflammation? Is it our DNA or pollutants in the air or water? Nearly 700,000 people died of heart disease in 2020, one in 5 deaths. Here are a few more statistics: 115 million Americans struggle with obesity. Fifty million have type 2 diabetes. 13 million have some form of cancer. And at least 10 million Americans are plagued with an autoimmune disease. Medical science knows of more than 80 different autoimmune disorders. According to the CDC, approximately 1 in 44 children has been identified with an autism spectrum disorder. In 2000, the number was 1 in 150 children. It affects every racial, ethnic and socioeconomic group. These numbers are staggering, and the rates continue to grow. So the question is, what can we do about it? There probably isn't one easy answer, but paying attention to what goes into our bodies can help. Did you know that many parents have found that a specialized ketogenic diet can relieve and sometimes reverse autism? It's gotten much attention from scientific publications, and rightly so.
If nutrition can bring such a positive change in the lives of these children, poor nutrition may very well hurt our lives in the form of these chronic illnesses. Unfortunately, there are numerous historical instances where government nutritional guidelines haven't been all that great, and the proof is in the pudding. We always recommend getting to know the producer of the food you eat. Find out who raises your food, where and how it's raised, and what goes into it. Are there "extra" ingredients in products that add flavor or color that don't need to be there? You’ll find that all-natural, whole foods are delicious when raised on healthy soils. Our products don't need chemical additives to taste amazing. We avoid GMOs or fattening up the animals prematurely with grains or growth hormones. Our animals aren't given antibiotics because they are healthier on the less stressed forage diet versus the stressful grain diet that lowers rumen pH and stresses cattle. Our farms DO NOT use herbicides or pesticides, so you can feel safe knowing you’re feeding your family clean, all-natural foods with good nutrition.

"Regenerative agriculture through animal husbandry is crucial to revitalizing our topsoil and restoring grasslands. That's why I support this effort, by buying meats from pastured, grass-fed livestock. I like US Wellness Meats products, and their customer service is excellent." ~ Lori A.
