What Is Real?
As modern Americans, how many chemicals are we exposed to? How much fake food do we eat? Unfortunately, it's challenging to get a handle on. Plastics, petrochemicals, toxic food additives, carcinogens, and other nasties find their way into our lives, whether from the air we breathe, the products we use, the foods we eat, or the water in which we drink and bathe. They're everywhere. In fact, of the over 84,000 chemicals in use, it's estimated that only 1% have been tested adequately for safety. Studies indicate that a high percentage of Americans test positive for glyphosate exposure; the vast majority have evidence of exposure to multiple pesticides. If you haven't read about the potential health effects of this common weedkiller, you might want to look that up. So-called "green" products are often little more than exaggerated claims. What can the average consumer do about this? In a word - education! You'll often hear us talk about the importance of knowing your farmer and the products you use daily. We take great pride in our transparency and farming practices. We think it's essential to be educated consumers. Learn about the manufacturer. Find out about the "good,” the "bad,” and the "ugly" and share the information with others who might benefit. There are a lot of good businesses out there with clean or all-natural products that avoid using dangerous chemicals. Unfortunately, many companies might not be so trustworthy.

Know Your Farmer | Healthy Soil
Know your food, know your farmer is something we talk a lot about here at US Wellness Meats. We hope this saying inspires people to take a minute to ponder where their food is sourced.
Quality starts from the ground up beginning with healthy soils that provide an elite foundation for our farms, animals, and patrons. See the pastures in action with our On The Farm series narrated by Lead Farmer John Wood. From pasture rotations to our state-of-the-art meat cutting room where we carefully package products for your families, you will have the chance to experience how much quality means to our team. With each order we hope you can taste the grass-fed difference.

What is Beef Tallow, you ask? Beef tallow is rendered fat from cattle, often derived from suet, which is the hard, saturated fat found around a steer’s kidneys. It is used in a variety of applications, including frying food, making candles, and even skin products. Learn all about beef tallow and its variety of uses.
