Over the last couple of years, we've heard rumors of insects and faux meat as future food options. We've seen a rise in lab grown, ultra-processed, and fake manufactured foods. Big companies have grown up seemingly overnight to accommodate the consumer "demand" for such items. Our question is, "why is there any demand at all?" If Americans go down this road of lab created foods, fake meats, and whatever else gets dreamed up, we might very well be dealing with an even greater number of diet related health concerns in the future. Americans want to do what's right, but sometimes that means disregarding modern "guidance" and accepting grandma and grandpa's wisdom. Back in their day, it was common to use animal fats like lard and tallow for cooking - NOT vegetable oils. Real butter was a staple item - NOT margarine. Grass-fed meats were the main course until the early 1950's.
Did you know that fruits and vegetables have fewer nutrients than they had 60 years ago? Past generations and early ancestors benefited from "nose-to-tail" diets, nutrient dense meats, healthy fats, and fruits, nuts, seeds, and veggies grown in richer soil than most lands have today. Questionable land management has given rise to poor soil conditions that produce nutrient lacking foods. Along with lack of nutrition and consumption of processed foods, Americans today are experiencing an increase in obesity, heart disease, cancer, and autoimmune disorders. There might be connections to be made there. Food is people fuel, so consider your options seriously when choosing your sources. Will you follow the new directives or seek the wisdom of the ages? As for us — well, you'll probably find us sitting down to a delicious and nutritious grass-fed, sustainably raised beef steak drenched with real butter.

"Midday gathering for this group of Baldwin County Alabama US Wellness cattle in late January. In the 1950's, cattle were numerous along the Gulf Coast but development, commercial agriculture and forestry has converted 90% of cattle acres into the above listed enterprises. The remaining acres in beef production still specialize in unique year around grazing in the USA."
