Does Grass-fed and Pasture-raised really matter? In a word - YES! Let's delve into that a bit more though. Our bodies are bombarded every day by polution and toxins in the air, water, and food we eat. Wherever we can clean things up for ourselves, we should probably do so. The body does come equipped with some amazing filtering tools that help keep things ship shape, but when those organs become overwhelmed bad things can happen. Since our food is our source of energy and nutrition, that is an important factor for our health and wellness. In a sense, we're eating what our food eats. We want these animals to be healthy so we're healthy. Some animals like ruminants (cattle, deer, sheep, bison, elk, goats) have digestive systems specially equipped to eat grasses. If these cud chewers eat something else it can create health problems for the animal and ultimately us.
