Happy Father's Day!
This is Dad's special day. Being a parent is a lifelong job. It's an adult level responsibility with lots of challenges and perks. Children don't come with manuals which means we're all experiments of a sort. Each and every child is unique with their own personality, strengths, weaknesses, talents and abilities. There are some basic similarities in parenting techniques, but each generation has it's own characteristics. Some of these characteristics are due to changes in society as parents and children adapt to the ever changing culture. If you're a parent, we salute you...it's not easy, but it is very rewarding.
Dads everywhere love good food. It's axiomatic! Whether your Dad enjoys a good steak or the simple pleasures of a well crafted burger, the way to a man's heart has a direct path right through the tummy. Not to make generalized statements, but most men either love to cook outdoors, or they love eating food cooked outdoors. Why? Well, because — FIRE. Grilling is a domesticated form of open fire cooking passed down from generation to generation, beginning thousands of years ago when we were rubbing rocks and sticks together to make sparks. The smoky aromas and flavors from an outdoor grill are intoxicating. A grill or smoker cooking fine grass-fed steaks, chops, brats, ribs, brisket or burgers is a sure fire way to draw a crowd.
