Spring Sports
Sporting competitions have been a part of societies from as far back as you care to dig. Literally every society throughout history has had their favorite sports. It has been a form of military training as well as a way for people to show off their athleticism. Sports have always been a source of pride for families, tribes, schools, colleges, and nations all over the world. Greece is well known for bringing us the Olympics, but even before that, cave drawings depict running, wrestling, swimming and archery around 15,000 years ago.
If you love sports, this is one of the best times of the year. College Basketball is in the midst of an exciting championship tournament. Team USA just played Japan in the Championship of the World Baseball Classic, and spring training is wrapping up with 30 MLB teams getting ready to head back to home stadiums for the 2023 season. After grueling regular seasons, teams in the NBA and NHL are working hard to earn a spot in their playoffs coming up in Mid-April. The MLS season has begun and promises to be another exciting schedule for soccer fans. We hope you enjoy this spring sporting season and take the opportunity to get out and enjoy a walk around the block, a hike in the woods, or perhaps a bit of kayaking. We don't all need to be athletes, but exercise, sunshine and healthy food is good for all of us.
