Pioneer Roots
It's been 23 years and counting since the pioneer farm families at US Wellness Meats set about this journey. Pioneers don't take the well-worn path of least resistance. They tend to be risk takers and trail blazers. At a time when most cattle farms were going the route of commercial, grain-fed, feed-lot style operations to save money and build profit potential, US Wellness Farms were literally going the opposite direction back toward the wisdom of generations past. They wanted a more transparent approach to the relationship between farmer and consumer. Today, we are even more committed to honoring that tradition. We firmly believe you should know all you can about your food, how it was raised, and the farmer who raised it. Why does this matter? It's a matter of trust! Study after study validates the importance of clean, whole, all-natural, nutrient dense foods. You will not find junk ingredients in our foods. It simply is not there. Our farms don't use pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, growth hormones, GMO's, mRNA vaccines, or any other un-natural chemicals, feeds, or additives.
Did you know that most Americans had never eaten grain-fed beef before the 1950's? Today, the vast majority of beef sold in grocery stores is conventional grain-fed. It's quicker, easier and cheaper to raise animals on grain. When it comes to food, easier and cheaper isn't normally better. A factory can make a lot of food in a short amount of time, but it takes considerable effort to grow your own veggies without chemicals, or raise cattle on 100% grass. When it comes to quality, flavor and nutrition, the effort is well worth it.
Flashback to 2003: "It has taken me three years to find a piece of grass-fed beef that is tender, juicy, meaty, and available online...the steaks from Grassland Beef [now US Wellness Meats] are satisfyingly delicious!" - Marian Burros, Food Columnist for The NY Times [11.26.2003]
If you are just now discovering US Wellness Meats, we invite you to give us a try. We'll do our level best to treat you to the most delicious and nutritious foods on the planet.
All the Best, Team USWM

Slash Colon Cancer Risk
By Dr. Sears
(15% OFF Storewide Discount Code)
I was saddened to hear that soccer legend Pelé and “Cheers” star Kirstie Alley both died of colon cancer late last year. But the wider part of this tragedy is that this kind of cancer is highly preventable and still poorly understood by most doctors. Mainstream physicians – as well as the media – will tell you your age causes colon cancer, the genes you inherited from your family, and a high-fat diet. They couldn’t be more wrong...
September 2023 Featured Chef
Our Featured Chef for September is Michelle Daniels, owner/operator at Back Porch Paleo. " Work is love made visible” by Kahlil Gibran – this quote, while originally of spiritual significance, hung in my Mother in Laws kitchen and for her that “work” was creating food for her family and friends. It still inspires me to this day." This week, Michelle shares her tasty recipe for Brined Popcorn Chicken!
Michelle also has an amazing recipe for Grain Free Pie Crust and her Back Porch Paleo Cookbook that are must haves for the kitchen. See her Featured Chef page for details.
Know Your Farmer
Ruminants like cattle, bison, sheep, goats, elk, etc. are born with a special digestion system specifically for digesting grasses. Grains tend to cause inflammation in these animals that causes stress on their systems and ultimately effects the nutritional quality of the end product. From the time our animals are weaned, they spend the rest of their lives on native prairie grasses growing healthy and stress-free, just like nature intended.
We think it's important to know where food comes from, how it's raised, and who raises it. These are important factors because nutrition (people fuel) starts in the ground not in a laboratory or factory. Our farms are dedicated to being good stewards of the land, air, water, and animals we raise. We were sustainable before sustainable was cool. US Wellness Farms use NO antibiotics, NO GMOs, NO added growth hormones, NO mRNA animal vaccines, NO pesticides, and NO Herbicides. Our foods are all-natural and loaded with quality nutrition.
