Love to Learn
Benjamin Franklin is famously quoted as saying, "an investment in knowledge pays the best interest." He was also known to be a voracious learner and read nearly everything he could get his hands on. While Franklin's formal education only extended to his tenth year, he continued his education by working in his brother's newspaper business learning the printing trade, writing columns, and eventually becoming a publisher, author, scientist, diplomat, and inventor. He was also instrumental in crafting our nation's founding documents. Not too bad for someone who only attended school through age 10. This story is similar to many others who lived during the early years of our republic. Even Abraham Lincoln, who was President many years later in the 1860's, had extremely limited formal education. His appetite for learning was immense though and he self-taught himself while also helping out around the farm. He later became a successful businessman, lawyer, and was also a postmaster, county surveyor, legislator, and served in the military, before becoming President of the United States of America. Again, not too shabby.
Here in modern day America, it's Back to School time. Every August, parents shop for pencils, pens, notebooks, school clothes, backpacks, crayons, and other school supplies so their students are prepared for the new year. Parents today have a multitude of options available to help ensure their children get a good education. There are public schools, charter schools, parochial and private, magnet schools, and homeschool options available. As parents, we want to give our children the best education possible, and to instill in them a healthy love for knowledge and learning.
One of the most important aspects of education is how we prepare children to learn. Sleep and nutrition are critical components of learning. We all need adequate rest to do good work, and good nutrition from an early age has been shown to benefit children in the classroom. Young people with a healthy, nutrient dense diet avoiding ultra-processed foods are healthier and better equipped cognitively for academic performance. School lunches are notorious for not always having the healthiest ingredients. If your student will be eating at school, consider supplementing with healthy, sugar-free, nutritious snacks and make sure they have access to healthy meals at home. Browse our selections of Kid Favorite 100% grass-fed, pasture-raised foods with NO added sweeteners, NO dyes, NO chemical additives, NO GMOs, NO preservatives, NO Junk and give your student the best chance to succeed this school year.
All the Best, Team USWM

Prevent the World's Most Painful Infection
By Dr. Sears
A virus remains dormant inside your body long after you were first infected…right up until the day it gets reactivated because of a weak immune system. No, I’m not talking about Covid. I’m talking about shingles. Anyone who’s ever had chickenpox as a child is at risk of getting this nervous system viral infection. They’re both caused by the varicella-zoster virus.
