Signs of Spring
One of our favorite seasons is approaching. Yes, it's still winter and the end of February can bring some bitter cold and snow days, but March traditionally brings some of the first signs of spring. Early spring flowers will show us the first signs as glimpses of crocus, daffodils, and tulips will begin to appear. Little spring peeper frogs will start warming up the windpipes for early morning and evening choruses. We can't wait!
March is literally just a few days away, so we can start celebrating the end of a relatively mild winter in the Midwest. Officially, the spring equinox is the first day of spring and happens this year on Tuesday, March 19th. On this day, the Northern hemisphere and Southern hemisphere both get approximately the same amount of daylight. Another celebration we look forward to during the next few weeks is St. Patrick's Day. The U.S.of A. has a vibrant Irish American history and celebrations take place all over the country. With over 31 Million people in the states who have Irish ancestry, it's no wonder why St. Patrick's Day has become a traditional spring celebration. So, whet your appetite for some classic Irish American Corned Beef and Cabbage, Irish Stew, Soda Bread, Potato Boxty, and a hearty Irish Ale to wash it down. Sounds like a little bit o' heaven. We'll be ready for the festivities when we hear the "Erin go Bragh" chants emanating from the Irish Pubs all over America.

All the Best, Team USWM
